The vast majority of occupational injuries and incidents of ill-health are avoidable by good health and safety management; and good health and safety management should be recognised as an essential element of good overall management. With increasing globalisation comes the need for a common and consistent standard for achieving the health and safety of workers in all parts of the world.

The aim of the NEBOSH International General Certificate is to provide those making day-to-day decisions at work with a broad knowledge of health and safety issues.

This highly interactive five day course has been designed for all those involved in health and safety that require sound training leading to an internationally recognised qualification through examination and assessment. It is a unique international health and safety standard award. It has the same format and content as the National Certificate but focuses on internationally recognised health and safety standards and priorities (ILO/18001) and best practice in controlling hazards.

The course is based on a balanced combination of classroom teaching, workshop sessions and syndicate exercises supported by practical demonstrations and exercises within the industrial environment.
